Café Ventana’s culinary duo is fixin’ up some fine Cajun Cuisine

Saint Louis, MO (February 21, 2011) – Saint Louis’ renowned and award winning Chef, Christopher Lee and the Chef de Cuisine at Café Ventana, Katie Case won FIRST PLACE in the Professional Division at the Soulard Mardi Gras Crystal Cajun Cook-off on Saturday.  The cook-off featured ten professional and ten amateur chefs competing for the title of Best Cajun/Creole Dish. With only two hours to prepare their best dish, Café Ventana’s “Creole Trinity” was a winner. The winning entry included spicy fried chicken and cornmeal waffles with bourbon butter and smoky bacon infused maple syrup, crawfish pie and BBQ shrimp and grits – straight out of the bayou!  The winning recipes will be featured in this week’s edition of “Pro’s Pantry” in Feast Magazine – a weekly column written by Chef Lee, who is the Executive Chef at Café Ventana, Chuy Arzola’s, Sanctuaria and the soon-to-be Hendricks BBQ.
