Kowalski and “Her Majesty’s Pleasure” will compete in the Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition this Sunday

Saint Louis, MO (August 23, 2013) Sanctuaria, winner of the 2013 OPEN TABLE DINER’S CHOICE AWARD and recently named the BEST PLACE TO HANG OUT IN THE GROVE by the GO! Magazine and one of the TOP 55 BEST BOURBON BARS in America, will be sending Mandi Kowalski to compete in the Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition in Kansas City.  Kowalski is one of two finalists from the St. Louis metro-area and she will exhibit her outstanding mixology talent by making “Her Majesty’s Pleasure”, one of her original concoctions, as well as her rendition of a classic cocktail. 

The Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition began in 2007 as The Greater Kansas City Bartending Competition, and was formed by KC residents and beverage industry professionals Doug Frost and Ryan Maybee. By emphasizing and encouraging creativity, knowledge of classic cocktails and use of fresh ingredients and quality spirits, the competition strived to identify the city’s most talented craft bartenders and promote them and their fine establishments.

The event takes place at The Uptown Theater on Sunday August 25, 2013 at 6pm.  In addition to the competition itself, there are tasting tables where guests may sample the competing bartenders’ cocktails, food served by local restaurants, live music and entertainment, and more.  Watch 12 of the top bartenders from around the country mix up their drinks on stage as they compete for the $1000 Grand Prize.
