Seiter is selected as a finalist in the Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition

Saint Louis, MO (August 7, 2012) – Saint Louis’ AWARD WINNING MIXOLOGIST, Matt Seiter, Bar Manager and Chief Liquor Officer at Sanctuaria and Sauce Magazine’s 2012 Bartender of the Year, has been selected as one of the 12 finalists in this year’s Paris of the Plains Bartending Competition in Kansas City, MO on August 26, 2012.  Seiter is the only finalist from the St. Louis metro-area and he will showcase his exceptional mixology talent by preparing one of his original concoctions, as well as his take on a classic cocktail.

The Greater Kansas City Bartending Competition is now a part of the Paris of the Plains Cocktail Festival.  Watch 12 of the top bartenders from around the country mix up their drinks on stage as they compete for the $1000 Grand Prize.  In addition to the competition itself, tasting tables will be set up where guests may sample the competing bartenders’ cocktails and food served by local restaurants, live music and entertainment, and more. Joel Clark, of Sanctuaria, in GQ Magazine – Congratulations!

 

Saint Louis, MO (December 9, 2011) – Sanctuaria, voted as one of Saint Louis’ TOP 10 BEST NEW RESTAURANTS and recently nominated for the WORLD’S BEST COCKTAIL MENU, would like to congratulate “Spirits Guide” Joel Clark, on being one of 46 finalists in the United States to compete in the “Most Inspired Bartender” contest, held at the Fifth Annual USBG Bartender Summit presented by Bombay Sapphire Gin, GQ Magazine and Ted Baker. “Bollywood Nights”, one of Clark’s original creations, won the St. Louis Regional contest and advanced him to the Nationals in Sin City.

As featured in the December issue of GQ Magazine, when asked “What do you think gives you your own personalized style?” Clark replied “Because I’ve always been an avid reader, a musician and studied art in undergrad.  I’ve been told my drink prep is very rhythmic.  I also like to keep things light behind the bar, because life is too short and my shift is too long not to.”

Sanctauria’s AWARD-WINNING Mixologists have made them proud again!


Saint Louis, MO (May 2, 2011) – Sanctuaria, voted as one of Saint Louis’ TOP 10 BEST NEW RESTAURANTS, has exciting news.  Congratulations are in order for their well known Mixology team – Matt Seiter and Joel Clark.

Matt Seiter is proud to announce that he will be joining forces with Feast Magazine this June to write a monthly column as their FEATURED MIXOLOGIST – what an honor!  Matt will share his extensive knowledge of cocktails, innovative tips and recipes and his “how to” instructions for all you at-home mixologists at heart.  Congratulations Matt!

Joel Clark headed West and came back “CERTIFIED” . . .  BarSmarts Certified that is.  BarSmarts Advanced is a by-invitation-only program and is the only comprehensive spirits, mixology and service education and certification program available today. It focuses on the most relevant spirits history and tasting techniques, and teaches the most current methodology for mixology, bar tools and service modules. The program is designed to take basic bar skills to an advanced level, and will provide anyone looking for the most innovative skills an opportunity to train with the award-winning Beverage Alcohol Resource team.  Sanctuaria is proud to boast that both of their Mixologists have successfully completed the BarSmarts Advanced program.
